Merged

Releases without GitHub Releases. When a push to master or pro carries a herdr-plugin.toml version with no tag yet, the workflow does two things:

  1. Tags the commit v<version>.
  2. Opens and merges a tap PR that points the formula at the tag's source archive, with its checksum.
Branch Versions Formula
master stable (0.21.0) shepherd
pro pre-release (0.21.0-alpha.2) shepherd-alpha

A stable version on pro, or a pre-release on master, is skipped.

Needs the GH_RELEASE_TOKEN secret, the same kind drover uses: a token that can push to and merge PRs on jwarykowski/homebrew-tap.

Testing

  • shellcheck passes.
  • DRY_RUN=1:
    • With the current versions, it does nothing (the tags exist).
    • 0.21.0: tags on master, skipped on pro.
    • 0.21.0-alpha.2: tags on pro, skipped on master.
  • The formula edits, run against copies of shepherd.rb and shepherd-alpha.rb, change only the url, sha256, version and the test's version.
