cava's generated config had no [input] section, so on macOS it fell to a device with no capture stream and the bars never moved (selected Core Audio device has output channels but no capture stream). -source writes an [input] block naming the capture device, e.g. a loopback such as BlackHole:

keybars -source 'BlackHole 2ch'

Empty flag keeps cava's default input. README usage line added.
